My Unfiltered Views on the End of the Financial System
Well, I might as well go out with all guns blazing. Locked and loaded. You want to know what I really think? You’ve probably guessed already, but here it is — no filters this time. I can’t exactly say sit back and relax. Lean forward and focus. This ship is going down. When it finally sinks — and my gut says later this year — you’d better have a lifeboat ready.
How I Got Here: A Personal Story
Let me start with a story. I once had a job I hated. I was an affiliate manager at a jewelry company. I’m not a marketer — I’m a thinker, trader, investor, and writer. I stuck it out for two years, but eventually decided I had to move on. I wanted to go into finance. So I submitted a financial article somewhere, and it got accepted. Then on my birthday in 2012, I decided with my wife that I would quit and focus on finance full-time. That morning, we went out for a birthday breakfast — we share the same birthday, which makes life simpler. I planned to show up late to work and announce my resignation.
But before I even got to the office, my manager called: the company was suddenly closing up shop, so there was no need for me to come in. Talk about convenient. I showed up anyway, said goodbye to my friends, and walked out with a weight lifted off my shoulders.
Two years later, I saw a post from my friend Robbie Strazynski of CardPlayerLifestyle about a guy named Bill Beatty looking for a financial writer for a gambling website called CalvinAyre.com. I said I was interested. I didn’t know much about gambling, but I knew finance. I could swing it. Bill gave me a shot, trusted me, and in March 2014 I wrote my first article. Macau stocks were at all-time highs, and I predicted they were about to implode. They did — over the next two years — though not for the reason I’d expected.
My life then settled into a holding pattern for a few years. I grew tired of freelancing — it was too limiting, and I wanted to start my own thing. So in February 2020, I began laying the groundwork for going independent. That venture is now The End Game Investor (EGI), focused on precious metals investing and trading within the context of the “End Game” — the end of the financial system as we’ve known it since 1971, viewed through an Austrian Economics lens.
Then, one month later, the world as we know it actually ended. The Coronombie Apocalypse hit: everyone masked up, the Fed printed a skrillion dollars, and I lost most of my freelance gigs as confusion and pandemonium took over. But the groundwork for my own thing was already laid, and the global backdrop only accelerated what I was already predicting. So I focused up and launched EGI. I kept writing for CalvinAyre.com, which surprisingly hung on. Meanwhile, EGI grew, and a year later — now — it’s taking off.
I started thinking I should put all my energy into EGI and let go of my column. But I liked it too much because Bill allows freedom of expression — something not to be taken for granted in this censorified world. Just as my subscription base was taking off and I was debating whether to go all-in on my own work, I got a call from Bill saying CalvinAyre.com would no longer publish gambling news. Same thing that happened in 2012. I’m sad, but once again I was beaten to the punch. My whole adult life has been that way — I can’t explain why, except to say I’m constantly pushed in the direction I’m already heading.
The Collapse Is Coming – Here’s What to Expect
So here’s what happens next, in my view. In a few months, food price increases will become glaringly obvious. Price inflation can no longer be hidden. You can tinker with statistics only so much, but once it hits food prices, it’s game over. It’s already happening. Food bills are rising and will rise much faster. That inflation will quickly be priced into bond yields, and the balance sheets of banks — stuffed with worthless bonds — will all collapse at the same time. The whole process, once it starts, will take no more than weeks.
The Fed will embark on one last round of printing to try to save the system, but it won’t work. Not this time. This time, the dollar — the world’s reserve currency — will be completely destroyed, and with it all other fiat currencies and the entire global financial system. Done, finished, the end. That means everything running on the assumption that dollars have any value — including the electricity grids that mine cryptocurrencies — will freeze up. The prices of gold and silver will become undefined in dollar terms. The only way to buy anything will be through barter.
Why Physical Gold and Silver Matter
It’s easiest to barter with gold and silver — that’s why they’ve always been used as money throughout civilization. That’s how money developed, until FDR stole the gold supply in 1934, gave everyone paper in its place, and the United States embarked on the world’s most dangerous financial experiment in human history. That experiment is about to blow up, 87 years later. Best to have some monetary metals physically with you — or you’re going to have serious problems.
If you’ve ever seen the movie The Big Short, there’s a scene where the misfits who figured out what was happening before the 2008 crash screamed about the end of the world. Well, this time it’s for real. There will be no saving it.
The Madness of Lockdowns
Meanwhile, governments have gone completely nuts. Countries have locked down entire populations without thinking of the most obvious consequences. How will the next generation — now locked in their homes in the U.K. and elsewhere — learn the skills needed to take the reins of the global economy? How will people fall in love, get married, and have children if they have to wear masks all the time and never see a human face? How will anyone excel at being human — at art, dancing, engineering, medicine, business, anything — while locked up like rats? How do you train new doctors like this? How does anyone learn anything? What’s the point of life if you’re not allowed to live? How is this insanity even happening?
The good news is that lockdowns can only continue if they’re funded by more debt. And that is about to end. What happens then is a different world — a new world. Hopefully a better one. It’s up to each of us to make it better once this mess is cleared out for good, along with all the collateral damage.
