The End of the Series

The End of the Series

It’s a strange feeling to know that it’s all coming to an end. I never really expected to be here when the lights were finally switched off at CalvinAyre.com. But I wouldn’t trade my time there for anything else in my professional career — it’s been an amazing ride.

My original pitch to get in the door was simple: I wanted to work for the Rolling Stone of the casino world. Without question, it turned out to be the greatest education of my writing career. What motivated me most was the chance to work alongside some of the best creative minds in the gambling industry.

A Unique Voice in Gambling Media

I want to thank Calvin Ayre for building a platform that speaks to the gambling industry in a voice unlike any other. He’s not afraid to back his creative team, even when covering tough industry stories. CalvinAyre.com may be evolving, but I’ll be watching to see how he brings that same passion for business to the world of Bitcoin SV.

Behind Every Good Writer Stands a Great Editor

CalvinAyre.com Editor-in-Chief Bill Beatty is the Michael Kinsley of the gambling world. Bill has the rare gift of developing great writers. You won’t meet a more genuine person, and I’m incredibly grateful for everything I learned about the casino business, about writing, and about how I see the world.

Lead reporter Rebecca Liggero Fontana took me under her wing. You won’t meet a more generous soul than Becky. Her passion for the casino and tech space is absolutely contagious, and I’m glad I got to experience that unabashed joy for the industry.

I also want to thank Derek Tonin, my editor, who I spoke with every day I worked at CalvinAyre.com. Derek doesn’t shy away from blunt criticism, and it was inspiring to be on the receiving end of his honesty. He’s someone you’d want next to you in the trenches — he tells the truth and celebrates the wins alongside you.

A Message to the Whole Team

There is a huge team of writers, video editors, and IT developers who made CalvinAyre.com such a success. Raise a glass to them — they helped turn this site into what it became.

Personally, my journey at CalvinAyre.com was always about the people. It’s rare to find great people to work with in this world. I also owe a thank-you to two former bosses who encouraged me to chase my passions in this industry: AD, a former CalvinAyre.com editor, and T2, who took a chance on me as well.

What’s Next?

I don’t know exactly what I’ll be doing next, but I know I want to stay in the casino industry. It’s an industry I always come back to, and I love it.
