The Beat Goes On

A Fond Farewell to CalvinAyre.com

As many of you already know, our journey here at CalvinAyre.com is drawing to a close. It has been a genuine privilege to be part of this site for the past two years, and there is a bittersweet feeling as we wrap things up—even as I look forward to what comes next.

I want to extend my sincere thanks to our founder, Calvin Ayre, for giving me the opportunity to write about the gambling industry. Beyond that, I’m grateful he created a platform that explored a different side of the business—one that wasn’t afraid to shine a light on uncomfortable truths when needed. I’m excited to see where his campaign to awaken the world to the potential of Bitcoin SV leads next.

The People Behind the Platform

Bill Beatty, our Editor-in-Chief, has been a true guiding light. Thanks to him, I’ve learned to think about journalism, the gambling industry, and even life itself in entirely new ways. He will always remain one of my most valued mentors.

But I couldn’t have achieved half of what I did without every colleague, past and present. Our talented team included writers, editors, web developers, production staff, on-screen reporters, HR, and accountants. It took all of us working together to deliver the latest news and opinions every single day, and everyone deserves their share of the credit.

Connections That Made a Difference

To everyone I met at conferences before COVID-19 shifted everything to digital—and to those I connected with via email or Zoom since—it was a pleasure getting to know you. I hope we’ll have the chance to meet again in person once things return to normal. In the meantime, feel free to reach out using my contact details listed below.

Looking Ahead

I’m still not entirely sure what my next move will be, but I suspect it will remain in the gambling industry. This field has been my life for over a decade, and it’s an industry I continue to love and respect. Whether I keep writing about it or dive back into an operations role, it will always be part of who I am.

If you’d like to stay in touch, connect with me on LinkedIn or follow me on Twitter to see whatever tangent I’m exploring next.
