NFL Confirms Fanatics Deal, Renews DraftKings & FanDuel Agreements

A few days ago, GamblingNews reported that Fanatics had joined the National Football League (NFL) as an official sportsbook partner. Yesterday, the league confirmed that deal and also announced renewed agreements with DraftKings and FanDuel.

NFL Names Three Official Sportsbook Partners for the Upcoming Season

On August 27, the NFL announced that it had finalized commercial agreements with three leading sportsbooks. One of these was the previously reported partnership with Fanatics, while the other two involved renewing existing ties with DraftKings and FanDuel.

For context, the NFL had been without an official sportsbook partner for nearly five months after its previous arrangements with DraftKings, FanDuel, and Caesars expired. That changed a few days ago when reports emerged that a deal with Fanatics had been struck. While speculation suggested that Caesars might not renew, the status of the DraftKings and FanDuel deals remained unclear. As it turns out, the official sportsbook partner lineup remains largely the same, with the only change being Fanatics replacing Caesars. The NFL also confirmed that DraftKings will continue as the league’s official daily fantasy sports partner.

What the New Agreements Mean for Fans

Under the new arrangement, the NFL’s three partners are authorized to “leverage NFL marks within the sports betting category and promote online and retail sports betting.” These operators will also have a presence at major NFL events such as the Super Bowl and the NFL Draft. The agreements will provide unique hospitality and VIP experiences, along with integrations across NFL-owned digital media properties.

Additionally, the three NFL partners will gain access to official NFL play-by-play statistics, proprietary Next Gen Stats, and BetVision through Genius Sports. As official partners, Fanatics, DraftKings, and FanDuel have committed to following the league’s integrity policies, promoting responsible gambling, and working to prevent sports betting fraud.

Reactions from NFL and Partner Executives

Officials from both the NFL and the sportsbooks shared their enthusiasm about the renewed and new agreements.

Renie Anderson, Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer of the NFL, welcomed the three operators to the NFL family:

“DraftKings, FanDuel and Fanatics share our vision for innovation and fan engagement, but most importantly, our commitment to protecting the integrity of the game. We look forward to navigating this next chapter in sports betting together.”

Matt King, CEO of Fanatics, expressed excitement about becoming an official NFL partner and bringing fans closer to their favorite sport:

“This deal underscores our vision for Fanatics as a true digital sports platform — a single destination where fans can bet, play and engage with the NFL all in one place, making the experience of being a fan better than ever.”

Stephanie Sherman, Chief Marketing Officer of DraftKings, highlighted the value of working with the NFL, noting that it will “put the DraftKings brand alongside the biggest games of the season.” She added:

“That presence is especially meaningful for DraftKings as the #1 sportsbook for live betting, giving fans more ways to engage with every drive, play and moment as it happens. We’re excited to continue bringing that experience to football fans across the country.”

Christian Genetski, President of FanDuel, called the NFL an “important partner” that has helped FanDuel provide bettors with engaging yet safe experiences:

“We’re proud of what we’ve built together and look forward to continuing to find new ways for fans to engage with the games they love.”

In other news, the NFL recently urged the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to step in and regulate the prediction markets space amid concerns over fraud.
