Mozzartbet Confirms End of Malta-Licensed .com Brand
Closure of Mozzart.com Under MGA Licence
Mozzartbet Group has confirmed that it will cease operations under its Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) licence as of 1 October 2026. This strategic decision means the international betting operator will discontinue the Mozzart.com brand, which has been running under Mozzartbet Malta Limited’s MGA licence since March 2019.
An official notification sent to media partners on 27 August stated: “We regret to inform you that, following a strategic decision by management, Mozzartbet Malta Limited will cease its operations under its MGA licence and discontinue the Mozzart.com brand, including the affiliate programme operated under that brand.”
The company added: “This decision follows our determination to focus exclusively on the markets in which we hold local licences and operate under local regulation.”
Timeline for the Brand Shutdown
Mozzart.com is scheduled to close on 1 October. Affiliates have been informed that final commissions will be calculated based on activity generated up to and including 30 September. After that date, all affiliate links will be deactivated through the MyAffiliates platform.
Strategic Focus on Established Markets
Mozzartbet Malta Limited operates from its registered office in St Julian’s, Malta, while the broader Mozzartbet Group is headquartered in Belgrade, Serbia. The Mozzart business was founded in Belgrade in 2001 by Serbian entrepreneur Dejan Čakajac and has since grown into one of the Balkans’ leading betting groups.
At the time of publication, the licence MGA/B2C/606/2018 remained listed as active on the MGA’s register of authorised online gambling businesses.
Operations in Locally Licensed Markets
The announcement clarifies that Mozzartbet will maintain its commercial focus in markets where it holds local licences. Its affiliate programmes in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kenya, and Nigeria will continue without changes.
Mozzartbet also operates in other regulated markets, including North Macedonia, Romania, Croatia, and Ghana. However, these were not specifically addressed in the affiliate notice.
A company spokesperson told SBC News: “The decision relates solely to the Mozzart.com business operated under the MGA licence. It does not affect any of our other operations. Our activities in Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kenya, Nigeria, and North Macedonia, where we operate under local licences, continue unchanged. The move reflects a strategic decision to focus on the markets in which we are locally licensed and regulated.”
