Fargo Brothers Charged in Poker Game Robbery Linked to Former Dealer
Two North Dakota brothers allegedly helped organize an armed robbery of a private poker game, where masked gunmen stole cash, wallets, and cell phones. Booking photos of the Dubois brothers, accused of involvement in the Fargo heist, were released by the Cass County Jail (Image: Cass County Jail).
Charges and Details of the Robbery
Jackson James Dubois, 22, of Fargo, and Delton Robledo Dubois, 20, of West Fargo, each face a Class B felony charge in Cass County District Court for robbery involving a firearm, dangerous weapon, or destructive device.
According to charging documents reported by Valley News Live, three men wearing dark clothing and ski masks entered a building on Northern Pacific Avenue in Fargo on August 28 during an invite-only poker game. The gunmen allegedly ordered six players to the floor, taking their wallets, cell phones, and cash from the poker table. The total stolen was estimated at $2,500. One player told investigators that a robber pressed a gun against the back of his head during the incident.
Suspicions Fall on a Former Dealer
Players reportedly told investigators they suspected a former dealer who had been fired from the game for being intoxicated while working. That unidentified dealer had previously brought others to the private game, including Jackson Dubois, according to the charging documents.
Investigators later uncovered text messages between Jackson and the former dealer discussing “making money” in the days before the robbery, as well as additional messages allegedly detailing the plan. A third unidentified man admitted knowing about the robbery plot but said he got “cold feet” and did not enter the building; he has not been charged.
Evidence Uncovered Through Surveillance and Cell Phones
Investigators used private security footage and traffic cameras to identify a black pickup truck with distinctive chrome trim allegedly linked to the robbery. The vehicle was traced to Delton. A search of the truck revealed ski masks, dark clothing, gloves, an empty trash bag, and a bank deposit receipt, according to authorities.
Two cell phones stolen during the robbery were later found near an address associated with Jackson’s former girlfriend. Jackson claimed he was on FaceTime with his girlfriend that evening, but cell phone location data allegedly placed him near the robbery scene at the time it occurred. Delton denied being at the poker game that night but was still able to describe how someone could gain entry to the private game, according to court documents.
Arrests and Ongoing Custody
Police searching Delton’s apartment found three ammunition magazines in a safe, while a firearm was recovered from Jackson’s residence during a subsequent search warrant execution. The brothers were arrested on August 31. As of Thursday, Cass County Jail records reviewed by Casino.org showed both remained in custody on the felony robbery charges.
