Blueprint Gaming adds expanding reels to Fishin’ Frenzy franchise in Reely Big Catch Jackpot King
Expanding Reels Debut in Fishin’ Frenzy Series
Blueprint Gaming has launched Fishin’ Frenzy Reely Big Catch Jackpot King, a fresh addition to its popular fishing slot franchise. Released on 27 August 2026, this title introduces an expanding-reel bonus mechanic for the first time in the series. The key innovation is the Gold Fisherman character, who activates during the bonus game. When the Gold Fisherman lands and collects cash prize symbols, he awards an extra spin and expands the reel where those symbols appeared by one row. Each expansion adds five new winlines, progressively widening the play area as the feature unfolds.
Gold Fisherman Mechanic: How Expanding Reels Work
The Gold Fisherman mechanic builds on the collect-and-multiply structure that Blueprint has refined across recent releases. During the Bonus Game, the player triggers the feature by landing at least three Bonus Scatter symbols, earning up to 20 free spins. As the reels expand row by row, the game introduces a revamped multiplier collect system. Every four Wilds collected during the bonus round activate fish symbol tags with increasing multiplier values, and also award five additional free spins. This creates a dynamic, escalating experience where the play area grows and payouts multiply.
Bonus Game Features: Free Spins and Multipliers
The Bonus Game itself offers a robust set of features. In addition to the expanding reels and multiplier collect system, the game integrates the Jackpot King progressive jackpot network. This network runs across multiple Blueprint titles, offering a tiered structure of prize pots that can be won on any qualifying spin. The combination of expanding reels, increasing multipliers, and progressive jackpots makes each bonus round highly engaging.
Base Game and Power Play Mode
In the base game, fish symbols that land are gathered by a Fish Net positioned above the grid. At any point, the net can trigger the Fishin’ Frenzy pick-me feature, which awards one of five outcomes:
- Money Collect
- Cash Streak
- Extra Fish
- Direct entry to the Bonus Game
- An additional Fisherman Wild (exclusive to Power Play mode)
Power Play can be triggered during base play at 5x the base stake. This mode restricts active reel symbols to Fish, Bonus, and Fisherman only, offering an alternative route into the franchise’s core collect mechanics. It’s designed for players who want a more focused, high-stakes experience.
Jackpot King Progressive Jackpot Integration
Reely Big Catch Jackpot King incorporates Blueprint’s Jackpot King progressive jackpot network, which provides a tiered structure of prize pots. Players can trigger the jackpot on any qualifying spin, adding a layer of potential for life-changing wins. This release follows Fishin’ Frenzy: Lure ‘Em In, which launched on 30 April 2026 and achieved a record-breaking opening weekend for the franchise. Blueprint’s content is distributed to top operators including bet365, Sky Vegas, William Hill, and PokerStars, across regulated markets in the UK, Malta, Gibraltar, Sweden, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal, Spain, and Canada.
Behind the Launch: Record-Breaking Franchise
Alex Naspe, Marketing Director at Blueprint Gaming, commented: “The Gold Fisherman brings a fresh dynamic to the Bonus Game, with the expanding reels creating additional ways to build the feature as it progresses, further supported by a revamped collect offering boasting an array of fish symbols with eye-catching multipliers and the chance to unlock additional spins.”
